The Word's Out

In the intimate setting of the Upper Room of Theater aan het Vrijthof, "spoken word" and "poetry slam" will take center stage during Museum Night. From the new generation of word artists, Derek Otte and Gershwin Bonevacia will give performances.

Derek Otte (Rotterdam, 1988) brings personal and social stories to life with rhythm and rhyme. His poems and spoken word alternately provide food for thought and training for the laughing muscles!

Gershwin Bonevacia (Rotterdam, 1992) was city poet of Amsterdam from March 2019 to January 2022. His stormy rise did not come naturally due to his dyslexia, but wrestling with words made him an inventive word artist.
