Anastasia Safonova and Andrej van Brakel

This musically gifted mother-son duo, Anastasia Safonova and Andrej van Brakel, is bringing two concerts curated especially for Museumnacht Maastricht 2025. In these concerts, they brilliantly create a beautiful color palette by combining lighter pieces with heavier compositions. Expect works by Schubert, Piazzolla, Stravinsky, and Falla.
At just fifteen years old, Andrej van Brakel served as the principal cellist of the Dutch Youth Orchestra from 2020 to 2022. Anastasia Safonova is renowned for her impressive career as a concert pianist and chamber musician.

PLEASE NOTE: Especially for the first concert, the theater will open its doors at 19:30 for people with Theater aan het Vrijthof as their starting location.
